Professional Environmental Management (PEM) executes each project based on the specific requirements of the client as defined in the project scope of work. Key program elements typically include:

Site Investigations / Field Assessments: sampling and laboratory analysis, along with evaluation of other site conditions that might impact the project goals.

Feasibility Studies & Analysis: evaluate available technologies and identify remedial actions and design criteria for further consideration.

Remediation Design: develop technical bid documents including plans, specifications, etc.

Construction Administration, Oversight &Testing: pre-bid site walk, contractor pre-qualification, submittal review, scheduling / critical path, pre-construction meeting, construction, health and safety oversight and testing, close-out approval and documentation.

Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Support: staff training, routine inspections, and evaluations, equipment, system optimization and troubleshooting, regulatory compliance. 

Professional Environmental Management (PEM) management philosophy is based on providing cost-effective quality services, on schedule, while meeting all health and safety goals and in compliance with applicable regulations. Projects are staffed based on service area expertise to ensure assigned staff efforts are concentrated in their area of knowledge, training, and experience and that each client receives the expertise and focus necessary for optimum project performance. PEM’s management approach includes:

Single Point of Authority: A client approved Program Manager is assigned as the single point of communications and accountability, with the authority to assign and direct the necessary resources to achieve the client’s defined expectations.

Partnering Approach: This approach includes all project participants / stakeholders in ongoing dialogue about the most efficient methods and technologies to achieve the client’s objectives. 

Planning, Execution and Closeout: Planning and execution include ongoing assessment of processes and protocols and includes a well-organized kick-off meeting, regular progress meetings, and project closeout.  

Cost / Schedule Management: Cost / scheduling are managed through oversight of project budgets versus costs and tracking of critical path objectives.

Staffing: Assign staff meeting specific position requirements for education, training, credentials and expertise.
